Meet the maker

Hi! I’m Izzy, I’m based in Margate creating ceramic homeware. I studied printed textiles at Leeds Arts University working with screen printing and 3d processes.

I bought my kickwheel in August 2020 and have been making ceramics ever since! My work is strongly influenced by my textiles practice as I’ve always been interested in the relationship between the 3D form and surface pattern, and which I find takes my design process in lots of exciting directions. I take a lot of inspiration from architecture and mid century design in my work, contrasting brutalist inspired shapes with a soft playful colour palette.

I've always been drawn to making functional things as I love the idea of adding something a little bit special to elevate everyday activities. I like to think my mugs are tiny sculptures you can drink your morning coffee from!

I work from an industrial unit in Margate that I have lovingly converted into my dream studio! I live in the heart of Margate, a beautiful coastal town In South-East Kent with a vibrant creative scene.
